How to Get the Most from This Test

Treat it like two halves. The first 30 seconds is rhythm-building; the second 30 seconds is where you push. Don't sprint in the first half — settle in and accelerate toward the end.

Accuracy pays more than speed. Net WPM penalises errors. A clean 80 WPM beats a messy 90 WPM gross every time. Aim for 98%+ accuracy and let speed follow technique.

Your score is an average, not a peak. If you stumble on one word, keep going. One bad 3-second sequence across 60 seconds barely moves your WPM. Don't let one hiccup ruin the run.

Use this for all-time records. The 1-minute test is the leaderboard standard. Take your best attempt here if you're aiming to rank — not a sprint test or a 5-minute endurance test.

Warm up first. Cold fingers produce lower WPM. Take a 15-second or 30-second test before your serious 1-minute attempt to get into rhythm.
