About the 2-Minute Leaderboard — Real Sustained Speed
Two minutes is where test speed starts to resemble real working speed. The opening burst contributes almost nothing: you're typing roughly 200 consecutive words, and the score is decided by rhythm consistency rather than peaks. Scores here typically land 3–7% below the same typist's 1-minute benchmark — the gap widens for burst-style typists and nearly vanishes for rhythm typists.
Rhythm Beats Peaks
The top scores on this board come from typists holding near-constant inter-key intervals. Bursts followed by pauses produce more accumulated errors by the two-minute mark than a slightly slower but even cadence — and net WPM punishes those errors directly.
Early Fatigue Appears
Around the 90-second mark, hand and shoulder tension starts degrading accuracy. Proper position — wrists floating, shoulders loose — is worth several net WPM in this format. See our RSI prevention guide for the setup that holds up under sustained load.
The Stepping Stone to Endurance
If you're aiming at the demanding 10-minute board, master this format first: two minutes exposes the same consistency problems at a manageable scale.
Leaderboard FAQs
How is anti-cheat filtering done?
Every keystroke is timestamped during a test. After submission, the timing data is analysed for patterns that are statistically impossible for human typing — uniform inter-key intervals, impossibly fast sequences, or distributions inconsistent with the claimed WPM. Flagged results are excluded from rankings automatically.
Can guests appear on the leaderboard?
No. Only scores from registered accounts are saved and ranked. Create a free account to have your scores saved and eligible for the leaderboard.
How often do leaderboard positions update?
Positions update in real time after each verified submission. If you set a new personal best, it appears on the board immediately after the result is saved.
