Most typing test sites are cluttered, slow, and designed around keeping you on the page rather than helping you improve. TypingTest.now is the tool we wanted to use ourselves: fast, accurate, and genuinely useful for tracking long-term progress.

Typing Tests for Every Level
Whether you are just starting out or pushing past 130 WPM, there is a test for you. Choose from 1-minute, 3-minute, and 5-minute time-based tests, or go by word count — 10, 25, 50, or 100 words. Difficulty levels (Easy, Medium, Hard) adjust the vocabulary so you are always challenged at the right level.
Specialised Test Modes
- Coding test — camelCase identifiers, snake_case variables, operators, and real programming tokens. Built for developers who want to measure their actual editor speed.
- Quote mode — type real sentences from literature, philosophy, science, and history. Quotes are harder than word lists because you cannot predict what comes next.
- Numbers mode — pure numeric input practice for data entry, accounting, and finance work.
- Punctuation mode — commas, semicolons, brackets, and apostrophes mixed into your text to simulate real-world writing.
- Zen mode — no timer, no pressure, infinite text. Just flow.
- Custom text — paste any text and type it as a test.
Practice Sessions
Tests measure where you are. Practice sessions help you get better. Target your weak keys, drill the home row, practice the top and bottom rows in isolation, or work through structured accuracy drills. Each session is focused on a specific skill gap.
Weekly Competition
Every week a new weekly typing competition goes live. A fresh format — different duration, different mode — keeps it from becoming routine. Compete for the top spot, earn XP, and climb the ranks. Results are verified and anti-cheat filtered.
Leaderboards
Global typing speed leaderboards track all-time bests, weekly rankings, accuracy, and XP. Every score on the board has passed keystroke timing analysis — uniform inter-key intervals and statistically impossible sequences are automatically flagged and excluded.
Progress Tracking
Create a free account to save every result. Your personal dashboard shows your WPM history over time, personal bests per test type, accuracy trends, and your XP level. All results persist indefinitely.
